About Shepparton Baptist Church
A safe place to belong, ask questions, and explore your faith
We reckon church is much more than just a building you visit on a Sunday — it’s a family you belong to. Whether you’re brand new to faith, searching for a supportive community, or simply trying to figure out if God is real, you’ve found a safe place to land.
At Shepparton Baptist Church, there’s absolutely no need to have it all together. We’re just a bunch of everyday locals navigating the ups and downs of life alongside each other. You are welcome here exactly as you are.
The heart behind our church
Our mission here in the Greater Shepparton region is pretty simple: we exist to glorify God and make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. But what does that actually look like for you and your family? We focus on four core values to help you thrive in your faith and life:
Celebrate
We focus on coming together for worship, encouraging personal devotion and prayer, and living with a continual awareness and response to God’s Presence.
Cultivate
We value the study of God’s Word and the personal application of Biblical principles. We are passionate about Christians modelling the character of Christ and making disciples who in turn make disciples.
Care
We are committed to mutual care and encouragement. We support the recognition, development and use of the giftedness of the Holy Spirit by every believer, along with service and sacrifice to meet each other’s needs.
Communicate
We focus on developing relationships with unbelievers to bring them to God’s family. We achieve this by recognising the needs of our community and the application of our resources to meet those needs.
What we believe
Everything we do at Shepparton Baptist is firmly anchored in the supreme authority of the Bible and the incredible grace of God. We like to keep things clear, welcoming, and grounded in truth.
We believe in one God who exists as the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. We believe that while humanity certainly isn’t perfect, God’s love for us is. And this is why Jesus came, lived, died, and rose again to offer us forgiveness and a completely fresh start.
We also practice believer’s baptism by immersion as a beautiful, public symbol of your personal faith, and we regularly share in the Lord’s Supper to remember Jesus’ sacrifice.
